Mayor Lovely Warren Outlines Rochester's Police Reform Plan

Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren has unveiled the City's draft plan to reform the police department.

The city must submit the final version to the state by April 1, and she is inviting public comment now.

Warren wants the city to be allowed to fire officers immediately for cause.

She also wants to reduce the number of police personnel over the next five to ten years and reallocate the saved money to other programs.

The plan also calls for more funding for systems that appropriately replace police with social workers and mental health providers.
