Rochester City Council President Won't Seek Re-election

Rochester City Council President Loretta Scott says she's not running for re-election, saying in a statement that she will retire at the end of her term.

Scott will have served 12 years on council by then. She was first elected in 2009 and has been council president since 2014. Prior to that she was City Parks and Recreation Commissioner for 30 years.

Scott's will be the second open seat on council so far. Councilman Malik Evans has announced he's running for mayor instead of seeking re-election.
