The New York National Guard has confirmed the names of the soldiers killed in the Black Hawk helicopter crash in Mendon.
They were Chief Warrant Officers Steven Skoda, Christian Koch, and Daniel Prial.
Koch was also a pilot with the New York State Police Aviation Unit. He lived in Honeoye Falls and and served in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Skoda and Prial also served in Afghanistan and lived in Rochester.
The crash happened Wednesday evening during a night-vision medical evacuation training mission.
An Army Safety Investigation team is at the crash scene to begin its analysis of the accident.
