Democrats in the Monroe County Legislature say they will formally ask Legislature President Joe Carbone to investigate sexual harassment allegations against Legislator Ernest Flagler-Mitchell.
The Democratic Caucus says in a statement, "Legislators hold a position of trust, and we are obligated to hold ourselves accountable."
A woman says she was sent an explicit picture via text message. Flagler-Mitchell said he intended to send the picture to his wife. He says he apologized to the woman.
A statement from Carbone's office says the issue has been reported to the Board of Ethics and law enforcement.
