Record Number of New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Monroe County

A record number of new COVID-19 cases reported in Monroe County. According to the County’s Health Department, there were 1,114 new cases of the virus since the last update. There are no additional deaths to report leading the death toll to stay unchanged at 685. The 7-day average of new positive cases is now at 600 a day.

The health department says: “Today’s total new cases are a result of the state’s positive test reporting system being down for an extended period of time earlier this week. During that time, the Monroe County Department of Public Health was not receiving reports of cases, which caused those cases to be included in today’s report.”

The 7-day rolling average positivity rate for Monroe County is 9.8%.
