Monroe Co. Sees Another Record Number of New COVID Cases

Coronavirus case numbers continue to increase in Monroe County. The Health Department reports 678 new cases in the last 24 hours.

The health department says 9 more people have died, bringing the death toll to 373. The 7-day rolling average positivity rate for Monroe County is 8.62%.

Monroe County Executive Adam Bello says we are so close to the finish line, but we can't give up now.

Bello says the county is setting up a temporary mobile morgue in anticipation of more COVID deaths.

County Health Commissioner Dr. Michael Mendoza says we still need to brace ourselves for what he predicts will be an ongoing surge in the months to come.
