Cuomo Fears Holiday COVID-19 Spike

Governor Andrew Cuomo says he wants New Yorkers to understand that New York is the fourth lowest of all 50 states in COVID-19 infection rates. New York comes only behind Maine, Hawaii and Vermont. But the Governor says whether parts of the state move from yellow to orange depends on our behavior, and he's concerned that socializing over holiday parties will spread the disease.

Cuomo says he's equally concerned over Christmas and Haunukkah. He says these are the most social times of year coming up, and it's human behavior to gather together, which spreads the disease.

Cuomo says he also wants New Yorkers to understand that the approach of targeting micro-clusters of coronavirus outbreaks is working, and shut downs ordered for limited areas only are less harmfull to the economy.
