Rochester Man Receives 7-Year Sentence for Attacking Police Officer

A Rochester man is headed to prison for seven years for an attack on a city police officer in January.

Twenty-one-year-old Jamal Dima pleaded guilty last month and was sentenced yesterday.

He was accused of stabbing Officer Brian Cala in the cheek outside a home on Glendale Park. Police had gone there for a report of someone vandalizing cars.

Cala shot Dima in the wrist, then Dima led police on a foot chase before he was arrested.
