Fairport Police say a man's body was found in the Erie Canal this morning by a person who was walking along the towpath trail. Police Chief Sam Farina said the body appears to be of a white man, about 60 years old. It was partially submerged in the canal between Parker Street and Turk Hill Road. They don't suspect foul play at this time but say it's early in the investigation to be certain. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is also investigating.
