New SUNY Policy to Take Effect for Those Who Violate COVID Protocols

SUNY is implementing a new policy starting next month that would allow campuses to suspend or dismiss students who break social distancing and mask policies.

SUNY Oneonta halted in-person classes earlier this month due to a COVID outbreak and SUNY Oswego went temporarily to online learning because of a growth in cases.

Policy violations that could lead to suspension or dismissal include intentional violations by COVID-positive students, failure to self-isolate and failure to quarantine.
