State Public Safety Commission to Hold Hearings on National Grid Rate Hike

National Grid is going to have to answer some questions about its proposed gas and electricity rate increases.

The state Public Safety Commission is planning on holding a series of hearings about the plan that would raise the average customer's bill by eight bucks a month.

National Grid says the hike is needed to offset losses suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The hearings will be streamed online September 30th, October 1st, October 6th and October 7th.
