RIT Releases COVID-19 Testing Results on Students, Staff

Fall semester classes began Wednesday at the Rochester Institute of Technology...and President David Munson released COVID-19 testing results for students.

Munson says in a letter than more than 12,000 tests were submitted by students...and 60 of those turned up positive. Those students have a positive test result were quarantined until cleared by the department of health that administered the test. Some have been and are attending classes today. Others remain in quarantine until they're cleared to safely join the campus community.

Munson says more than 2,500 tests were received from RIT employees. There were three positives. Those employees are following Monroe County Health Department protocols and their significant contacts have been notified.

Munson says students and staff at RIT must continue to wear masks, watch their distance and wash their hands.
