State police say an 81-year-old man reported missing from Ohio caused the deadly crash overnight on the Thruway in Ontario County.
Troopers say he left the Clifton Springs service area in the wrong direction and was driving west in the eastbound lanes when he hit an oncoming car.
The man and two young men in the other car were killed. Two other young men in that second car were hurt.
