A Utica man has admitted to robbing banks last year in Gates, Penfield and the Buffalo area.
Nicholas Ferrone pleaded guilty yesterday in federal court and will be sentenced in September.
In all three robberies, he was wearing a latex mask over his face and handed the tellers a note demanding money.
He was connected to the robberies during a traffic stop on the Thruway, when police found the masks, clothing and the notes.
He had prior bank robbery convictions in 2013.
