Kodak Receives Federal Loan for Domestic Drug Production

Eastman Kodak is getting a first of its kind loan from the federal government to develop ingredients for generic drugs.

President Trump says it's part of his administration's plan to boost domestic production of drugs for a number of medical conditions.

The loan under the Defense Production Act totals $765 million.

U.S. Trade Representative Peter Navarro says it will be a big boost for the U.S. prescription drug industry and for Kodak.

And Deputy Secretary of Defense David Norquist says it will bring much of America's drug production chain back to America.

It could mean 300 new jobs in Rochester.
