Jacobs wins the special election in the 27th Congressional District.

Republican State Senator Chris Jacobs has won the special election in the 27th Congressional District. Jacobs defeated Democrat Nate McMurray and will finish the unexpired term of former Republican Congressman Chris Collins. Jacobs also won the three-way Republican primary for a full term in the November election, when he will face McMurray again. Collins resigned the seat last fall and pleaded guilty to federal insider trading charges. In the 25th Congressional District, incumbent Joe Morelle defeated Robin Wilt and will face Republican George Mitris in November.
