Rochester Police Lieutenant Killed While Riding Bike

Authorities say an off duty Rochester Police Lieutenant was killed last night in Canandaigua after he was hit by a vehicle while he was out riding his bike. The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says 44-year-old Aaron Colletti and his son were riding their bikes shortly after eight o’clock last night on Woolhouse Road, when a truck came up from behind and hit Colletti.

Sheriff Kevin Henderson tells our Bob Lonsberry that Colletti had been on an outing with his family prior to the crash.

Colletti's son was knocked off his bicycle during the crash, but was not seriously hurt. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
