Preliminary numbers from the New York State Department of Labor show the unemployment rate for the Rochester region rose last month to 14.9%.
That puts the region in the middle of the pack in the state.
The jobless rate in the Buffalo region stood last month at 19.2 percent, while in the Ithaca area it was 10.1%.
Private sector employment in the state fell by more than 1.8 million last month. And the state unemployment rate was 14.6%
