The University of Rochester has called off its annual Meliora Weekend in October.
In an online letter to alumni and parents, the university says the decision was based on public health concerns and the university's serious fiscal crunch.
And the university says it heard from some alumni they wouldn't feel comfortable gathering in large groups.
The hope is to hold 2020 reunion celebrations to June 2021 and bring back the traditional October celebration next year.
