SAT and ACT Exam Scores Optional for Prospective 2021 RIT Students

Students hoping to enroll at RIT next year will no longer have to submit scores from college entrance exams to apply for admission.

Starting with prospective students in 2021, submitting the scores from the SAT and ACT exams will be optional.

RIT says the tests are not the best indicators of student success and are biased against women, minorities and students from lower-income homes.

The tests were already optional for RIT's College of Liberal Arts, and the rest of the colleges will follow suit next year.
