Monroe Co. Health Department Says Infection Curve is Flattening

Some of the COVID-19 numbers in Monroe County continue to improve.

Health Commissioner Dr. Michael Mendoza says the infection curve has flattened, testing is up sharply, and the percentage of positive results is down.

Patients are being discharged from hospitals almost as fast as new ones are being admitted.

Nearly 90 percent of the COVID-19 deaths so far in the county were patients who were at least 70 years old.

Only 4 of the 163 deaths were patients under 60.
