Lawmakers Request NYS AG To Investigate Avon Nursing Facility

Some area lawmakers want the state attorney general to investigate the COVID-19 outbreak at Avon Nursing Facility.

Assemblywoman Marjorie Byrnes and State Senator Patrick Gallivan are expected to say more about their request today.

As of last week, three residents at the nursing home had died of the virus and several others had tested positive.

CEO Robert Hurlbut told the Livingston County News last week that a hospital didn't follow infection protocols when a nursing home resident was discharged last month.

He says the person was not tested for the coronavirus and showed symptoms days after returning to the home.
