Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren is reportedly close to announcing layoffs or furloughs of some municipal employees to save money.
An announcement is expected in the next few days.
Spectrum News reports affected workers are expected to receive unemployment benefits equal to, or greater, than their current pay.
The city has roughly 3,000 employees.
