Gov. Cuomo Announces NYS Reopening Timeline

Governor Cuomo has laid out plans for reopening New York...He says it will begin after May 15th, and will be guided by the Centers for Disease Control.

He says each region of the state may reopen after May 15th after it shows 14 days of decline in infection rates -- starting with low-risk businesses such as construction and manufacturing as Phase One.

The next phase would 14 days later, assuming infection rates don't go up again.

Reopening would proceed business-by-business, and it would be up to the businesses to figure out how they can run while maintaining social distancing and avoiding new infections. Each business will submit a plan before reopening. Cuomo says his staff is talking with business leaders.

The governor says it's likely Central New York, the North Country and the Mohawk Valley will go first because they have the lowest infection rates right now.
