Rochester Unemployment Rate Close To Five Percent

According to the State Labor Department, Rochester's unemployment rate in March rose from just over four percent a year ago, to nearly five percent now.

The Labor Department says these figures partially reflect the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and the start of the New York Pause, but many of them were locked in BEFORE school and business shutdowns were implemented. Data collection rates were also lower than usual because of the pandemic.
