Former State Senator, Majority Leader Freed From Prison Early

Former State Senator Majority Leader Dean Skelos is being freed from prison early.

Skelos has more than two-years left on his 51-month sentence for political corruption, but he contracted COVID-19 at the Otisville federal prison in Orange County.

The once powerful Republican from Long Island will be approved for furlough and home confinement.

Authorities have not yet said when he would be released.
