Superintendent Terry Dade Releases Proposed RCSD Budget, Cuts

Rochester school superintendent Terry Dade is proposing more cuts to balance the next budget.

Dade is recommending the closures of School Number 20 and School Number 43.

He also wants to bring a middle school back to School Number 3, and cut $6 million in spending at East high School.

The budget would eliminate 280 teaching positions and 60 other positions.

Dade's plan also replaces some school resource officers with security officers who are not police officers.

The school board will meet to discuss the budget Thursday and vote next month.
