Governor Cuomo Gives Update on Coronavirus Cases in NYS

Governor Andrew Cuomo says the curve in COVID-19 cases continues to flatten and it looks like we're at the plateau.

Cuomo reports there were 778 deaths in the past 24 hours. That number is slightly up, but he said over the past few days it's basically flat even if it is at a devastatingly high level. He called the lives lost a lagging indicator. Nearly 200,000 people in the state have been infected by COVID-19 and more than 10,000 have died since the outbreak began.

Cuomo added that as bad as the numbers are, they are not as bad as original projections. Cuomo said most numbers are down, if only slightly. Still, he said it's important to remember that there are still 16-hundred people a day walking into hospitals and being diagnosed with COVID-19.
