Wearing Masks In Public May Be Recommended Sooner Than Later

Monroe County Public Health Commissioner, Dr. Michael Mendoza, says he will soon recommend that people wear masks in public.

He has stopped short of saying, however, when he might issue the recommendation.

The New York Times reported this week that The Centers for Disease Control will issue a similar recommendation nationally.

Critics of the idea say masks are scarce and are needed by the people at the highest risk of infection -- including health care workers.
