NYS Reports Over 37,000 Cases of COVID-19

The number of coronavirus cases continues to increase in New York State.

There are more than 37,000 confirmed cases in the state with more than 21,000 in New York City. Westchester has the second highest total with nearly six thousand.

There are 385 coronavirus deaths in New York State. Cuomo says the number of deaths is increasing and people are on ventilators for 20 to 30 days.

Meanwhile, Cuomo says it is going well finding extra hospital space. His goal is to try to have a hospital overflow capacity of one-thousand patients for each of the five boroughs in New York City and in Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester and Rockland counties.

Cuomo estimates the coronavirus pandemic will result in the loss of ten-to-15-billion-dollars for the state. He's not happy with the five-billion-dollars New York State would receive from the federal stimulus package.
