Governor Cuomo Says Social-Distancing Policies Appear To Be Working

Governor Cuomo says social-distancing policies appear to be working to an extent, as the coronavirus hospitalization rate has been slowing statewide.

Cuomo says while the overall growth curve in terms of infection is still on the upswing, numbers from this week suggest progress in terms of hospitalization.

To date, 12-percent of the state's cases require treatment at the hospital.

The governor says the state is still in desperate need of additional ventilators, as progress is being made on available hospital space and freeing up additional staff.

New York has 30-thousand cases throughout the state, 18-thousand of which are in New York City.
