Governor Cuomo says an agreement has been reached in principle concerning a paid sick leave bill, aimed at helping out those impacted by coronavirus.
The measure would provide guaranteed job protection and pay for New Yorkers put into quarantine, or those receiving treatment.
Under the legislation, a comprehensive paid sick leave proposal will be adopted for all workers, something Governor Cuomo had proposed through his budget.
Officials are most concerned with being prepared for a "surge in demand" within the health care system, as more and more patients become infected.
