RPD Officer Injured When Responding To Family Trouble Call

Rochester police say an officer needed treatment at the hospital following an investigation into family trouble involving a weapon.

It happened around 7:30 last night on Boardman Street, off Monroe Avenue.

The officer stopped a vehicle in the area, and was trying to take a man into custody, when the driver hit the gas with the officer partially inside.

The driver hit a patrol car and two other parked vehicles. The officer was thrown out, but assisted in taking the driver and a passenger into custody.
