Cuomo Declares State of Emergency for Coronavirus

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is declaring a state of emergency to help deal with the coronavirus outbreak, as the number of cases climbs to 89. He says the move will help secure funds needed to fight the virus. He adds that the state has commissioned hundreds of tests, but in order to keep up, the process needs to be faster.

The governor blasted the federal government, claiming the state isn't getting enough money to fight the virus, and there aren't enough test kits available.

Westchester County has the most cases at 70. New York City has 11. Rochester and Monroe County have no confirmed cases so far. Test results yesterday showed a man who went to Rochester General Hospital with symptoms last week did not have the virus.
