Man Accused Of 1982 Brighton Ax Murder Due In Court

The man arrested in November for the 1982 ax murder of his then-wife in Brighton has a hearing today on pre-trial motions.

James Krauseneck is accused of killing Cathleen Krauseneck at their home on Del Rio Road.

The woman was killed while their 3-year-old daughter, Sara, was home.

Krauseneck had told police he came home from work at Kodak and found the body.

According to the D&C, his lawyers are asking that the District Attorney's Office be ordered to unseal files about rapist and killer Edward Laraby -- who died in 2014. Court papers say he had confessed to the ax murder.
