Guilty Plea For Woman Who Hit Two Children In Wagon

A woman accused of running over two children while she was taking a picture on her phone has accepted a plea deal.

Letoya Palmo was driving on Lyell Avenue in Gates when her car drifted into a parking lot, hitting two children being pulled in a wagon by their father.

Both children were seriously injured.

Palmo will serve two-and-a-half years in prison.

Defense Attorney Joe Damelio says it's a substantial penalty. Prosecutor Michael Caranante says she could have gotten up to seven years. Palmo pleaded guilty to all eight counts against her, including assault, reckless endangerment, and endangering the welfare of a child.
