Woman Accused in Gates Crash Takes Plea Deal

The woman accused of running over two children while she was taking a picture on her phone has accepted a plea agreement.

Letoya Palmo was driving on Lyle Avenue in Gates when her car drifted into a parking lot, hitting a wagon in which a father was pulling his two young children. Both children were seriously injured. Palmo has admitted to being distracted by her phone, and will serve two-and-a-half years in prison. She could have gotten up to seven years.

Palmo pleaded guilty to all eight counts against her, including assault, reckless endangerment, and endangering the welfare of a child.
