Wegmans Eliminates Plastic Bags Ahead of Ban

Starting today, Wegmans stores will no longer bag your groceries in plastic bags.

The chain is getting rid of the bags ahead of the statewide ban that takes effect March 1.

You can either use paper bags -- at a cost of 5 cents each -- or bring reusable bags.

In areas where there is no locally mandated fee for paper bags, Wegmans will donate the fees it collects to a food bank.
