Livonia Man Arrested for Shooting Neighbor

A Livonia man has been arrested on a felony weapons charge after allegedly shooting his neighbor in the foot.

The Livingston County Sheriff's Office says 41-year-old Justin McKinney became upset after the neighbor refused to leave his house. He first shoved his neighbor out the door, then fired a round from a 9 millimeter pistol which struck the neighbor in the foot. McKinney didn't have a permit for the pistol, so he was arrested for criminal possession of a weapon as well as other charges including assault and reckless endangerment.

Two children were in the home at the time.

McKinney is being held on $2,000 bail under the new Bail Reform Act.
