U.S. Marshal Arrest Man Wanted for Injuring RPD Officer

A suspected drug dealer who allegedly injured a Rochester police officer has been caught by the Marshal's fugitive task force.

Thirty-year-old Chezere Campbell had been on the run since November 2.

He fought with officers who were trying to arrest him and seriously injured one of them before he got away.

Campbell was arrested early yesterday morning after a foot chase near Clifford and Portland avenues.

He is charged with two counts of assault on an officer, criminal sale of a controlled substance, and resisting arrest.
