GOP Leaders in WNY Want Date for Special Election in NY27

Republican leaders in Western New York may be looking to take Governor Cuomo to court.

GOP officials tell "The Buffalo News" they're angry the governor hasn't set a date for a special election to fill the seat of ex-Republican Congressman Chris Collins.

There are reports that election could be held April 28th when New York holds its presidential primary.

Republicans say that date would put them at a disadvantage since a large number of registered Democrats will likely turn out -- and they may ask a judge to have Governor Cuomo order an earlier date.

Collins resigned last month after pleading guilty to federal insider trading charges.
