News Conference Set For 1982 Brighton Ax Murder

Brighton police have scheduled a 10 a.m. news conference to say more about the arrest last week of James Krauseneck for the 1982 ax murder of his wife Cathleen.

Representatives of the FBI and the District Attorney's office also will be at the news conference.

The killing happened at the couple's home on Del Rio Road and went unsolved for 37 years.

The woman was killed while their 3-year-old daughter, Sara, was home. Krauseneck had told police he came home from work at Kodak and found the body.

Investigators haven't said what evidence solved the case.

Krauseneck is now 67 and lives in Arizona, and his attorneys insist he is innocent.
