Sen. Gillibrand Pushing Legislation For Caregiver Tax Credit

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is pushing legislation that would provide family caregivers with a tax credit.

The bi-partisan bill would make those caring for a disabled or elderly family member eligible for a three-thousand-dollar credit.

Gillibrand say the money could be used for training and instruction, renovations to homes such as access ramps, or for the costs associated with transportation.

She compares it to the child care credit that offers parents a similar break on taxes.
