Update: Voter Turnout Up Slightly in Off-Election Year

UPDATED STORY:

County-wide voter turnout for this off-year election is now 25 percent...according to the evening estimates released by the Monroe County Board of Elections. That's five percent greater than the 20 percent turnout to this point four years ago in 2015....and also more than the 21 percent recorded in 2011.

The board says about 28 percent of suburban voters have gone to the polls today, and 19 percent of city residents. That doesn't include the three percent of voters who took advantage of the two-week early voting period last month.

Final turnout numers will be released after the polls close.
