Autism Spectrum Disorder Indication Proposed For Driver Licenses

A new bill would allow people with autism spectrum disorder to receive special driver’s licenses in New York.

The proposal calls for a distinctive mark on the license that would let medical professionals, law enforcement and others quickly recognize that the person has autism spectrum disorder, and may communicate differently.

The bill was referred to the State Assembly Transportation Committee last week.
