Binghamton University Professor Awarded Nobel Prize For Chemistry

A professor from Binghamton University is one of three scientists who will share this year's Nobel Prize for Chemistry.

Stanley Whittingham will share the prize with a scientist from the University of Texas at Austin and one from Japan.

The scientists were awarded for their work developing lithium-ion batteries.

Whittingham has been at Binghamton University since 1988.
