Man Accused of Stabbing RPD Officer Pleads Not Guilty at Arraignment

The Rochester man who's charged in the attack last week on a city police officer is being held without bail.

Suspect Keith Williams pleaded not guilty today to aggravated attempted murder and aggravated assault on a police officer.

Officer Denny Wright was stabbed multiple times in the face and head and remains hospitalized.

Williams is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Thursday morning, unless the grand jury delivers a felony indictment before then.

He was previously arrested this spring for a shooting on North Goodman Street and was charged with assault, menacing and weapon charges.
