An Irondequoit man is facing federal charges after authorities say he continuously threatened a woman he dated for a short time in 2016.
Theodore Loria was arrested and charged yesterday with cyberstalking. Federal prosecutors say Loria and the victim dated for three months in 2016.
In the months after they broke up, prosecutors say Loria began sending escalating threats via phone call or text message; saying he would burn down her place of business, and that he had connections to the mafia and people who owed him favors, and who would take care of people who crossed him.
The arrest was the result of a more than yearlong investigation by the FBI.
