NYS Public Health and Health Planning Council to Take up Flavored E-Cig Ban

The state's Public Health and Health Planning Council is meeting this afternoon and is expected to approve the governor's proposed ban on flavored e-cigarette liquids.

If approved, the ban will take effect immediately, and store owners will have two weeks to clear the liquids from their shelves.

There are reports across the country of hundreds of illnesses -- and seven deaths -- among people using e-cigarettes and other vaping devices.

Governor Cuomo says the flavors are popular with young people and designed to get more young people vaping.
