Retired Emeritus Bishop Matthew Clark Diagnosed With Alzheimer's Disease

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Rochester says Bishop Emeritus Matthew Clark has been diagnosed with early stage Alzheimer's Disease.

Clark was Bishop of Rochester from 1979 until he retired in 2012.

A statement from the diocese says it is saddened to learn of Bishop Clark's diagnosis, and asks for prayers for him and for all who suffer from Alzheimer's and those who work to treat it.

It says Bishop Clark hopes to continue his ministry in the diocese.
